Time Trial Start - you go into a room, they mark the start time on the number that's on the back of your jersey and you're told to sit down, with your arms behind your back,

and eat the pie in front of you.

racestart

And that's when the guy hiding under the table sticks his hand through a hole in the top of the table and slams the pie into your face, without any warning.

Best start of a race, ever.

Even with the best intentions, you're going to get hurt.

Reliving the past, never is.

Self-destruction is most acute on what's worth the most.

Shortcuts hardly ever are.

The magic beans are always worth trading for.

Focusing is a subtractive process.

Balance is the pollutant of patience.

Someone may always throw farther, but not necessarily with more reason.

Ginsberg was right!

Ginsberg was wrong!

Poverty is meaningless when money is meaningless.

Trees are forever fascinating.

Your senses are numbed, degraded and dimmed by the mind itself.

The attempt to understand others is simply understanding yourself, relative to others.

A lack of a resource, creates a desire for the resource.

The best learning is done with first-hand experience, most learning is done from indirect experience.

Growing physically stronger is just your body rebelling against the work it has to do.

The noisest places are found in the quietest settings.

Length only exists on the measuring device.

Growing involves pruning, thus growing involves self-sacrifice.

Love is suspect.

Cleanliness is next to unnaturalness.

Hope is lack of direction.

Pain comes afterwards.

Confusion is an escape path.

The privileged are privileged-blind.

Loneliness is the rule, not the exception.

Exhaustion and tiredness are two completely different things.

Planning is performing the action already.

Simple things are as complex as complex things- maybe more.

Fear is controlling.

Questioning is indeterminate.

A reversal of thought shows a willing to accept being wrong before.

Putting things in boxes is not the point.

R.I.P Brandon Borchert

Dear Friends,

It is with insurmountable sorrow that I relay news of the passing of our dear friend and esteemed colleague, Brandon Borchert. Many of you knew Brandon as the Screen Printing teacher at Screen@Capsule, and even more of you knew him for his incredible artwork, gentle spirit and kind heart. Brandon was an immensely talented artist and a gifted teacher who was loved by nearly everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting him, and his loss is an enormous blow to the entire community.

Brandon was found in his home on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 14. We currently do not have all of the details, and are awaiting a report from the coroner. There will be an obituary in tomorrow's Rocky Mountain News.

We will be celebrating Brandon's life and mourning his death at a memorial service at the Capsule Art & Event Center this Friday, November 17 at 7 p.m. There will be a chance to view Brandon's artwork and photos of him, share our stories and memories, and support his family in this time of unbelievable grief. All are welcome.

If you have digital photos of Brandon that we may include in the slide show and pass on to his family, please forward them to Capsule. We are in the process of setting up an account for a memorial scholarship fund for those of you who would like to give donations, and will forward that information when it becomes available.

On a personal note, Brandon was one of my closest friends, and one of the most remarkable human beings I have ever known. I feel lucky to have known him, and will miss him more than I have words to adequately describe.

With deep sadness,

Lauri Lynnxe Murphy
