The Locomotion

You've gotta swing your hips now,
Come on baby, jump up, jump back...
Well I think you've got the nack,
Woah woah...

Several of the actresses from the David Lynch movie, "Inland Empire" made a surprise dance performance of, "The Locomotion" after the Hammer Museum's showing of the film - August 1st 2007. The same actresses performed The Locomotion in the film itself. They also played hookers, who walked the Hollywood and Vine beat. Weirdly, I had stayed at a hostel on Hollywood and Vine not a day before. I did not pick up a hooker. I did go to The Smell.

Craptical's Ryan Riss took me to this - we got there around 4:00pm and waited in a quickly growing line to get free tickets.

After getting free tickets, we waiting in yet another line for two hours to enter the theatre. They gave me free tickets then there are seats in the theatre! We couldn't not stand in line.

Luckily, free coffee was given out, courtesy of Lynch himself. You knew this, since there were signs next to the coffee that read,

COFFEE COMPLIMENTS OF DAVID LYNCH

We stole one of the signs.

There were four of us total, so we took turns getting out of line and checking out the surroundings. The museum itself was open and also free for the summer and Ryan and I checked out the art on the walls.

Answering a question. He mentioned he's never, ever going back to film. It's digital from here on out.

Probably the best day I've ever had in Los Angeles. Probably the only good day I've ever had in Los Angeles, unless you count the time I went to Disneyland when I was eight. And I probably still cried.

I ended the night with Ryan and his Sister at an all-night taco stand and ate just-not-enough burrito. I didn't eat enough that entire day.

The next day, I woke up at 4 (fuckin') forty five in the morning, and got myself ready to meet M. downtown to ride bicycles to San Diego. 170 miles. Our day ended that night at Denny's. I had considerably more food that meal.
